Imagine transforming the wastewater from olive oil production into valuable algal biomass. That's exactly what Robuschi's Robox Lobe blower unit is doing in Rome.

The project integrates a phototrophic section that cultivates algae using CO2 and sunlight through photosynthesis, and a heterotrophic section that processes agro-industrial waste to generate large-scale biomass. This biomass is then harvested for compounds like starch, lutein, and beta-carotene, with the goal of producing one ton of algal biomass in three years for applications in nutraceuticals and bio-plastic production, with future experiments to include waste liquids like whey.

Why was the Robox Lobe chosen for such a critical role? It's simple: unparalleled efficiency and adaptability. The blower fits the project's specific needs for flow rate and head within a confined space, offering a compact solution for both bioreactors operating simultaneously. Its variable capacity, ranging from 180-270 kg/hour air flow per bioreactor and enhanced by an inverter for energy efficiency, is crucial for monitoring the pilot project's cultivation by-products under diverse conditions.

Additionally, our technicians meticulously analyzed the need for proper ventilation and soundproofing where the machine is installed, resulting in a highly positive and stimulating experience due to the innovative nature of finding the most suitable solution.
