So far in 2022, restaurants have gained back more than 500,000 jobs that were lost because of the pandemic. The restaurant industry employs more than 14.5 million people in nearly 1 million outlets. Despite continued steady growth over the last year, industry employment is still 4.5% below pre-pandemic levels.
