Join our teams as an Immigration Officer or Executive Officer

We are recruiting 137 Immigration Officers and 100 Executive Officers to join the Illegal Migration Intake Unit (IMIU) at locations around the UK.??

The IMIU is responsible for the registration and screening of those arriving in the UK illegally.??

The roles we are recruiting to sit within two of its teams: the Intake Response Team (IRT) at various locations around the UK and the IMIU Remote Operations Hub at Bedfont Lakes, near Heathrow. Salaries start at ￡28,000 for Immigration Officers (￡32,000 in London) and ￡32,000 for the Executive Officers at Bedfont Lakes. Both roles attract an annual shift allowance starting from between ￡13,695 - ￡15,651.?

Within the IRT we are recruiting Immigration Officers. These are uniformed, front line roles primarily responsible for processing people detected in lorries and other clandestine arrivals, as well as providing a surge and response function across the IMIU. These roles are based in Dover,?West London, Leeds, Newcastle, Bedford, Liverpool, Manchester, Cardiff, and Bristol.??

The roles within the newly formed Remote Operations Hub team are Executive Officer roles and will operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year to provide support with the time sensitive processing of detained illegal migrants who have arrived by clandestine means, including small boats. This is a non-uniformed role.???

What does the role involve??

Immigration Officers?

Some of the tasks you may be doing include:?

• Examining those who enter the UK illegally, including those who have arrived by clandestine means and are subject to the Illegal Migration Act 2023, at various sites across the UK?
• Capturing biometric data of those who have entered the UK illegally?
• Conducting interviews for those who have entered the UK illegally?

• Serving relevant immigration decisions?
• Other tasks relevant to grade.

Executive Officers?

• Creating new cases and inputting information on Home Office systems for those who have entered the UK illegally?
• Completing security checks using Home Office systems on those who have entered the UK illegally?
• Gathering and scrutinizing evidence gathered to make decisions on those who have entered the UK illegally?
• Producing relevant immigration paperwork?
• During periods of high intake, the team will also be required to conduct remote interviews for those who have entered the UK illegally.?
