Improving content quality at scale with AI

If you have a bunch of content that reads as outdated or is just not enough, you can improve it by using AI!

It'll take a bit of work to do it, but it beats going manually over each article and updating it.

Intro to Shopify Speed Optimization 2024

Shopify has recently replaced the traditional speed score with three new metrics: loading speed, interactivity, and visual stability.

The new metrics provide historical data on site performance, offering actionable insights for store owners to enhance user experience and SEO.?

Loading speed, now measured as Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), focuses on how quickly the main content becomes visible. Store owners are advised to optimize top-of-page elements, avoid heavy hero images, and compress images to improve LCP.

Interactivity, or Interaction to Next Paint (INP), gauges how responsive the site is to user actions. Ensuring immediate visual feedback for clicks and minimizing app-induced delays can enhance INP.?

Visual stability, measured by Cumulative Layout Shift (CLS), highlights the importance of preventing unexpected shifts in page layout during loading, which can be mitigated by reserving space for late-loading elements.?

You, as a store owner, will probably be targeted by many agencies and 'experts' with offers for this service. So make sure to be cautious when seeking speed optimization services, as some low-cost solutions might use deceptive practices.

Instead, focus on legitimate methods like image compression, script control, and lazy loading, and consider reputable services for a thorough and honest optimization.


1-second Ads

When creating graphic content for ads or organic traffic, you need to make sure that content is engaging in the FIRST SECOND.

People are doom-scrolling and if you manage to stop their scrolling, you get your first win. But it's far from winning 'the war'.

If it's video content, bear in mind that around 70% of scrollers have their sound turned off, so make sure that the visual aspect is more than enough.

That 1 second bought you 2 more seconds. Not more than that. So you have those additional two seconds to get your point across in an ENGAGING manner.

After the 3-second mark, create content like you've already lost them. Because more often than not, that is the case.

But, of course, there are analytics you can use to track when the drop in viewership happens so analyze the data and act accordingly.
