Join the Challenge to Save
What if I told you that in 60 days you will have an extra $500 in your savings? Would you think that’s impossible? Would you get a little excited about the idea? Or you might be thinking this lady is crazy.
No, I’m not crazy (maybe some days) and you can have that extra $500 in your savings. How are you going to do this? Simple…Challenge yourself to save it! I bet I sound a little crazy to you now. Especially since some months you live paycheck to paycheck or can't even afford the cable bill. Believe me, it can happen, if you challenge yourself to save it!
I have a friend who has dreamed of putting granite countertops in her kitchen. I asked her when she was getting them. She rolled her eyes and said that will never happen because the kids always need new things for their activities and household bills need to be paid so there is no money left over. Sound familiar?
I challenged her to look at their monthly spending. A lot of times we have a leak with our spending and if we don't find the source of the leak our money will continue to disappear. A leak could be in a variety of areas: eating out, extra "stuff" on your Target runs or convenient items that save us time. Can you think of some money leaks in your own spending?
$8.33 x 60 (days) = $500.00. Easy math right? Now, think about what you spend each day/week and see if you can find a measly $8.33 a day that you can set aside into your savings. That is less than $10.00 a day and BAM! you have $500.00 in 60 days!
It can be extremely hard to stay focused on a savings goal when there are external and internal forces pulling at you. If it's important to you than I say "challenge" yourself to stay on task and cross that finish line.
Starting January 2nd, I'm running a FREE 60 Day Challenge to Save $500. I push my challengers to believe in themselves that they can save for their dreams. This might include paying off debt, a winter vacation, new granite countertops, or whatever else is important to them. The $500 might not be sufficient for all of your dreams but if you participate in my 60 day challenge you will be equipped with tools to help you succeed in reaching other financial goals.
It takes work and dedication but if it's important to you then isn't it worth it?
How are you saving for your dreams?
