John’s Story – Part Two
John had a dad bod. He never thought it would happen to him, having always been sporty and active, naturally thin, and “unable to gain weight”.
He knew something had to be done about it.
First thing to do was to sort out the emotional mindless eating habits.
John cleared out all of the junk food he had in his kitchen. If he didn’t have crisps, chocolate, and biscuits in his cupboards, it would mean he would have to make healthier decisions whenever he fancied a snack at home. He didn’t plan on completely cutting out his favourite foods though! That would make his diet boring, miserable, and it would only be a matter of time before he went off the rails! But John decided he was going to only have junk food in moderation.
He began taking a healthy packed lunch with him to work. He would prepare it early each morning whilst having his breakfast. Having breakfast at home was also a change John introduced. This replaced his previous habit of stopping off for doughnuts, cakes, and coffee on the way to work each morning.
John also began including more vegetables in his weekly grocery shopping. Every evening when he came home from work to have dinner with the family, he would include a generous helping of vegetables. John liked to eat his serving of vegetables first, which would fill him up and encourage him to eat less of the other food on his plate.
Next, John decided to address his low physical activity levels.
Stay tuned for Part Three of John’s Story!
