John Pye Auctions Unveil State-of-The-Art Staff Gymnasium
John Pye Auctions are proud to announce the opening of our new staff gym.
The state-of-the-art facility has been built?at our Nottingham Headquarters. Headed up by National Facilities Manager Jon Macaulay, the gym is open to all staff on site.
The?build of?the on-site gym has been in the works for two years and officially opened to all staff last week. The gymnasium consists of a fully renovated corporate fitness centre with flexible training and social spaces. The facility is kitted out with top of the range equipment including treadmills, bikes, weights & boxing bags as well as a break room, where employees can enjoy a coffee and relax outside of the office environment.
The initiative provides staff with the opportunity to engage and socialise with colleagues from different departments as well as encouraging and promoting staff well-being. A free on-site gym provides a great incentive for the retainment of current employees and the attraction of new ones.
Opening hours for the gym are from 6am - 8pm, giving employees flexibility and the opportunity to work out before, during lunch or after the working day.

Jon Macaulay, National Facilities Manager at John Pye Auctions, and Project Lead said: “Employees mental and physical health is such an important thing to consider within our business and I’m positive this will be a great investment.
Our aim is that this becomes a valued part of the office and I’m thrilled with the positive feedback we have received so far”.
In a study published by the UK Government, it was found that one in four people are physically inactive despite the fact regular physical activity has been shown to treat, manage and prevent up to 20 different lifestyle-related conditions. That’s not the only benefit, with studies from Harvard Medical School and The American Council on Exercise finding evidence that supports the link between increased exercise and work productivity. Exercising improves productivity through increased alertness and energy and it can also be incredibly beneficial for mental health.
Adam Pye, Managing Director of John Pye, said: “This is a great investment for us. I can see it really benefitting our colleagues.
With the business world focusing so heavily on their employee culture and wellbeing initiatives, it’s brilliant that we’ve been able to provide such an impressive facility to everyone here at head office. This is a great opportunity which I hope all colleagues here will ?take advantage of”.
