John 20: The Kingdom of Heaven starts as small as a mustard seed.
A) John 20: Objective: To have the Kingdom of Heaven as small as a Mustard Seed become a Tree of Faith by:
1) bringing others to Christ and
2) edifying the Saints.
B) What is Faith?
Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.
C) We do good works:
1 Peter 2:12 - having your conduct honorable among the Gentiles, that when they speak against you as evildoers, they may, by [your] good works which they observe, glorify God in the day of visitation.
D) We preach the gospel:
Ephesians 2:8-9 - For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; [it is] the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.
E) - We take care of our own:
Acts 6:1 - Now in those days, when [the number of] the disciples was multiplying, there arose a complaint against the Hebrews by the Hellenists, because their widows were neglected in the daily distribution.
F) - We use our spiritual gifts:
Acts 3:6-8 - Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk." And he took him by the right hand and lifted [him] up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God.
G) We do what the Lord Jesus would do:
Matthew 25:35-36 - 'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; 'I [was] naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
H) So doing all this with the Lord's help the seed will become a tree.
