Joel Levac makes the best of No Snowkyo Drift
The 2nd annual MINI Canada Snowkyo Drift could hardly qualify for the name. In place of loads of the white stuff at Milton's Heritage Park there was ice and mud early in the morning that rapidly turned into a slushy mud bog that was more reminicent of a venue for swamp buggies than a state of the art WRC MINI Cooper.
That being said MINI's Frederic Dorais pulled a rabbit out of the hat and put on an event that left everyone who attended stunned. Desperate not to dissapoint because of the lack of snow he arranged for Joel to give rides around a course that simulated a rally stage. The MINIacs maybe could not 'drift' their own cars but by the amount of fist pumping and high fives seen after alighting the new in Gulf Oil colors MINI, I am pretty sure everyone was happy with what transpired.
For me it was the first chance to shoot the only WRC MINI in North America and visually and audibly it was a day not to forget.
