Joe Magno in Oecusse

Following Joe Magno’s visit to Melbourne to complete training, field work and research in the University of Melbourne’s School of Earth Sciences. Joe just recently embarked on a month long experience in Oesono, Oecusse with the University of Melbourne senior elector, Dr Steve Boger and two University of Melbourne postgraduate students, Jack Percival and Jeremy Lee who set off to Oecusse to complete research and field work to help complete their thesis. The four did fieldwork for a geological map of Oecusse. 

“It was overall, Invaluable training and a great experience because as a geophysicist I study about the sub surface of the ground, however, after spending time with 3 geologists who predominantly study above the ground, they gave me a great insight on the geological aspect of Oecusse”
