Renee has been a beloved member of the RGC team for 3.5 years. She is our "ninja in the shadows", scoping out top talent and organizations to work with across North America. When Renee isn't at her laptop, you can find her doing some serious DIY home reno projects, dreaming of a trip to Barcelona, or playing with her famous cat, Karen Abramowitz, rumoured Maine Coon, but definitely part human.?
What do you look for as a sourcer/lead generator in today's market?
“In Rec2Rec, the line of sourcing for candidates vs. clients is often thin or non-existent. Candidates may turn into clients, and vice versa. If you ask me what I look for in candidates, it's usually qualifications from our client first, then tenure, and finally, demonstrated work ethic or continued commitment to an interest. For example, working throughout post-secondary education or a longtime interest in music, sports, etc. It's a total green flag to see that someone can stick with something for a long time."
How has your experience in hospitality prepped you for recruitment?
"After years of working with customers face to face, it was a welcome change to transition into a different type of role. Hospitality develops those key skills for staffing; sales, problem-solving, and knowing when to code-switch. It's nice now because I'm a bit of a lone wolf, I get to ?focus on my research & flex my analytical skills; but I have that 'people-facing' experience to use as needed."
