40% of Lawyers Are Women. 7% Are Black. America’s Workforce in Charts

Almost 96% of all dental hygienists are women. Six out of seven lawyers are white. And the racial and ethnic makeup of paralegals, hairdressers and dietitians closely mirrors that of the overall U.S. workforce. The Bureau of Labor Statistics each year publishes data looking at the gender and racial composition of hundreds of occupations, offering a snapshot of how workers sort themselves into many of the most important jobs in the country.

These occupations skew heavily toward one gender or race .

And another reason why we do not need more lawyers in the world. I live in Florida and there are more personal injury lawsuits in this state than there are people. Ok exaggeration on my part. But consider that automobile insurance rates are higher here than anywhere else. Why, lawsuits drive up the premiums on insurance. And in all my years in the financial services industry I have never seen so many top rated insurance companies leave the state of Florida because they cannot make money here. Nothing against lawyers as they are needed; however at what cost?

The world does not need more lawyers. There are too many already and they are known as “deal killers “ in business; because deals are generally made on a handshake and then the lawyer creates a contract that kills the deal. And just consider the impact lawyers have had on healthcare. Lawsuit after lawsuit has driven health care costs to ridiculous heights. Don’t believe me; then why does a quadruple bypass cost ??140,000 in the United States ???? and the same operation in Panama cost $12,000. Answer - there is no tort laws in Panama! Think about it ???
