People who follow careers often feel more satisfaction because they’re building toward something they care about.

Why Knowing the Difference Matters

Knowing whether you’re in a job or a career can help you set clearer goals for yourself. If you’re only working for a paycheck or promotion, you’re probably in a job. But if you’re working toward new skills, big goals, or advancing in a field you enjoy, you’re likely on a career path.
