Job Vacancies in the Mining Industry
Working in the mining industry is always a dream for many but it is only a reality for some and not all dreamers. Every year thousands of students graduate from around the world in different fields of study but not all have the same privilege to be offered a job with a mining company. Consequently, as weeks unfolds into months, and months turn to year, most realize that it is only a dream and sooner or later they find themselves working in other industries.
The so called lucky ones that find themselves in the mining industries are really living their dream life because of the high paying packages. Almost 50% are Science graduates in fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Survey, Geo-technical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mineral Process Engineering, and Geology. Others from Technical colleges are mainly Electrical and Mechanical Trade graduates and apprentices.
Mining industry offers some of the highest paying jobs in the world today. Most of the jobs in the mining sector are three to four times the value compared to other industries. Imagine a Fixed Plant Electrician in the mining industry, doing the same job as the other Fixed Plant Electrician in the FMCG (Fast Moving Consumer Goods) industry but still a very big difference exists in their salary range. The average time taken for a mine worker to work is 12-14 Mann hours a day while other industries prefers a standard 8-5 job. Above all, metal prices are always at the top of the charts worldwide thus demanding more from the mining workforce. In the end, mining workers are always well compensated.
