Job Seeking This Season
Goodwill Industries of Central North Carolina, Inc.
Improve lives and enrich communities through the power of work.
With the holidays fast approaching, this time of year can be especially tough for job seekers. With the pressure to find the right opportunity and provide for your family, it’s easy for stress and uncertainty to take a toll on mental wellness.
To support job seekers through the season, Triad Goodwill is partnering with several mental health providers to offer workshops focused on positive mental wellness strategies for job seekers.
We held our first workshop in the series this week, featuring the power of positive affirmations and daily positivity practices— thank you to Marva’s Outreach Mission for a successful workshop!
We have two more workshops coming up:
Dec 10th at 11am | Coping with Job Search Anxiety— presented by Maggie’s Ministry
Dec 17th at 11am | Recognizing and Managing Stress— presented by the Kellin Foundation
Click here for more details on the workshops and to register. We encourage you to share this information with those you serve!
Do you serve job seekers with criminal records?
If so, also consider attending an upcoming webinar hosted by Triad Goodwill and other members of the Fresh Start Initiative (Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Guilford County Reentry Council, and the Department of Health and Human Services), speaking to some of the supports for employers for hiring justice-involved talent.
On Tuesday, December 10th at 9am, this webinar will feature Dom Grimes-Medlin, the Workforce Readiness Director for the NC SHRM State Council. Dom will share essential practices for building successful second-chance hiring programs, including best practices for hiring/onboarding, available toolkits, and certifications through SHRM to support employer efforts.
