Job Seekers: Are You Using This LinkedIn Feature?

With over 300 million users on LinkedIn, the content now available on this platform can be a bit overwhelming. If you have a large number of connections, it's difficult to navigate the massive amount of content flowing through your news feed.

Rather than try to keep up with the flurry of activity, there's a simple tool you can use to target content you want to see. When you're job seeking you might be interested in content related to a variety of topics such as:

  • Discovering your strengths
  • Career transition
  • Targeted resumes
  • Applicant Tracking Systems
  • Attracting recruiters
  • LinkedIn profile optimization
  • Cover letters
  • Interview preparation and performance
  • Interview follow-up
  • Salary negotiation

The good news is you don't have to scroll around looking for a needle in a haystack. There's a ton of free advice on LinkedIn from experts (and, yes, not-so-expert) on many subjects you can systematically discover and access.

From your LinkedIn home page, you can not only search for people, jobs and companies, you can search LinkedIn Pulse articles by clicking the drop down to the left of the search box and selecting Posts, shown here:

Simply enter in the subject you're seeking assistance with, and you can find posts to help you with this aspect of your job search. In this example, I typed in Wow Interviewers. From the search results you can select an article to view. You can also share it, like it, Tweet it, send it to connections, etc.

If you've already discovered this nifty feature of LinkedIn search, that's great! If not, start your targeted content search today to gain access to more resources to help you with your job search than you can shake a stick at.

All the best to you!
