(from The Job Seeker’s Recipe For Success series)
A great way to jump start ?job seeking success is to “get out there” and meet people who are in the position to help you succeed! This especially includes employees of other companies (Recruiters, Hiring Managers, Executives) that are attending job fairs and in the mode of meeting job seekers and hiring them!
?
? Face to face interactions are rich with opportunity. These types of meetings facilitate clear and direct communication. They allow for the exchange of verbal and non-verbal cues, such as body language, facial expressions and tone of voice, which can help convey information and emotions more effectively. This can lead to better understanding and reduced miscommunication.
?
? First impressions matter. First Impressions can leave a lasting impact on people. The initial encounter can shape their perception of you and make a lasting, memorable memory. This may create a valuable opportunity to pursue a continued professional relationship that could distinguish you above others and lead to a new job!
?
? Preparation is key. Preparation is key because it empowers you to improve your performance and navigate a challenge in order to create opportunities that come your way more effectively. So, how can a job seeker best prepare a Job Fair?

? Attend a Resource Fair. Resource Fairs ultimately prepare job seekers for the interaction and face to face experience with employers. They will teach you what to say, what to bring, how to dress, and those initial words that are so important to begin the conversation and make a lasting impression.? Take advantage of Resource Fairs and subsequent Job Fairs, because you will be empowered to make a great first impression with friendly and focused employers who need and want your Talent!? ?
