Job Seeker Tips, The Goonies House Owner, and Meditation

Hey there and welcome to the February edition of our newsletter!

Welp, some things have gone down since last month — mainly me getting laid off AGAIN. It looks like I’m back on the open market and looking for work. I am SO glad that I didn’t stop looking this time around. The last time I got laid off was a total surprise and I hadn’t kept up my job seeking efforts.

My biggest piece of advice (after getting laid off twice in one year) is to never stop looking, even if you are very happy with your job. Keep your interview skills sharp and your network growing and thriving. If you should get laid off, you’ll have something to fall back on.?

In the spirit of my layoff, I am sharing some job seeking tips this month along with a few entertainment interviews if you need some light reading.

From what I've been reading, it's going to be more of the same — establish your brand, get your resume on point and network, network, network. ??

For me personally, now that I am officially back on the market, it's going to be a lot of networking and looking for those hidden jobs.

Behman Zakeri is a serial entrepreneur with Type A personality on hyperdrive — and the new owner of the house from The Goonies, the 1985 movie about a group of young misfits called the Goonies who discover an ancient map and set out on an adventure to find a legendary pirate’s long-lost treasure. I interviewed Behman LIVE on my TikTok a few weeks ago and have included answers below.? Exclusive Interview – Jackson Rathbone talks Condor’s Nest

Actor, producer and musician Jackson Rathbone is best-known for his breakout role as Jasper Hale in The Twilight Saga film series has starred in over twenty-five motion pictures, including 2010’s blockbuster The Last Airbender. His recent credits include Mixtape and WarHunt. On television, Rathbone has made memorable guest turns on hit series including The O.C., Criminal Minds, No Ordinary Family and White Collar. He stars in Condor’s Nest, a film written and directed by Phil Blattenberger. I asked him about his role in the film as well as upcoming projects.

Meditation

For years the concept of meditation appealed to me so deeply yet I was absolutely sure I could never do it. I was sure that my brain that never seemed to stop talking would not be able to be still and calm for half an hour. I had visions of myself seated in a lotus position with my hands resting on my lap and my thumb to my index finger held in an ‘O’. I’d either be silent or maybe uttering guttural ‘Ohms’. This just seemed so far from my high energy day to day lifestyle that I didn’t even want to try for fear of immediate failure.
