*JOB SEEKER MUST READ ARTICLE*

By C. Kabwe

At times, I get the opportunity to vet some job applications and i must say more than half of the people make it easy to get rejected. *Whenever you write a CV, write like your life depends on it. Your life really depends on your CV as a job seeker! Put in all!*

Too many people just write CV's for the sake of writing then feel absolved for 'having tried to get a job.' Do you realise that on you'll be competing with over 100 other people for a single position?

You need to let the person/ people who'll be reading your CV what you can do - SKILLS, what you have done - EXPERIENCE, and what you've previously achieved - GO-GETTER.

I know people who use Google Sheets nearly daily, but never mention anything about this highly marketable skill in many fields, on their CV.

Another trait i have noticed is superiority complex when people write these letters. Yes, you have a degree, but *what can you do with your degree? A degree alone won't get you anywhere without actual skills.* --- Can you run VLOOKUP? Can you write a sales/ marketing pitch worthy millions each month? Can you even work a copier? --- I've seen a couple of degree holders come in and can't even use a copier???♂?

It's just shocking the many important things people leave out on a CV. Forget putting hobbies there, or putting that photo and personal details they're irrelevant. *Focus on SKILLS. Don't have skills, learn the skills which matter.*

_People can find or create memes on the internet but can't find lessons for acquiring new useful skills, this is where the disconnect is._
