About the Role
Tectonic Advisory Services is seeking 36 experienced Cerner-certified trainers to support the Nova Scotia Health One Person One Record (OPOR) Program. The trainers will work with OPOR trainers to deliver end-user training across multiple clinical and non-clinical streams. This is a full-time contract opportunity for 18 months, with the possibility of extension.
We are looking for a diverse mix of clinical backgrounds with expertise in Cerner solutions and healthcare training.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver end-user training for Go Lives 1-6 in all clinical and non-clinical disciplines.
- Provide At-The-Elbow (ATE) training, Peer Mentor training, and Just in Time training.
- Travel across Nova Scotia Health Authority zones to deliver local training.
- Complete Train-the-Trainer (TTT) sessions and adapt training to the Nova Scotia platform.
- Develop and contribute to educational support materials, including job aids, videos, and training documentation.
- Conduct formative and summative evaluations of training sessions.
- Participate in training debrief sessions and update training materials as needed.
- Support system adoption by ensuring healthcare professionals understand workflows and best practices.
- Be available for potential surge coverage to replace trainers due to absences, vacations, etc.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or health-related discipline (or equivalent experience).
- Cerner certification in at least one clinical stream (mandatory).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a clinical or healthcare training role.
- Minimum 3 years of experience delivering healthcare IT training, preferably in Canadian healthcare settings.
- Prior experience in at least one full Canadian Clinical Information System (CIS) implementation (multiple implementations preferred).
- Knowledge of Canadian healthcare industry standards and best practices in health informatics.
- Experience designing and delivering learner-centric training based on adult learning principles.
- Strong communication skills, ability to train diverse healthcare professionals.
- Valid driver’s license (travel across Nova Scotia required).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience training in multiple Cerner streams (e.g., Ambulatory, Mental Health, Inpatient Nursing, Perioperative, Pharmacy, Women's Health, etc.).
- HIMSS or CPHIMS-CA certification.
- Experience with healthcare transformation projects in Canada.
