Job Posting Aggregation of the Future via Google Ai Police

If you did care you would pay real close attention to the message, language and cloudy mirroring your representatives are promoting your jobs out in the marketplace.

I know, You don't care as long as they deliver quantity to your in-box and fill the pipeline with something that makes at least 1 of your KPI's look good!

Well! I hope you are prepared for the 'Google Effect' - you know the new kids on the block for job search 'Google for Jobs'! It may have just launched today in the US - the UK and AUS will not be far behind. More info from TechCrunch

So, I observed the other day 21 'duplicate' copy'n'paste job ads! How do I know they were for the same job? - Exactly same title, same location (City and County), same industry and same wording structure and content with a 'slight' amendment to first sentence - One was from the company, 17 using 'my client' and 3 using 'my exclusive client' - they do say pride (ego) comes before the fall [from Proverbs 16:18 - I had to look it up - you guessed it - I googled it!] - What a crock of ....

Another interesting side bar consequence of Google for Jobs will be the use of AI/MI/ML in the validation not just of the ad, but of the person and company generating the job post! Imagine if you or your company post poor or inappropriate jobs - Google can demote them in the search results to 'not displayed in first 1000 results' and you will never know - 'cos you don't check them as candidates do you?

Now a side [but relational] question - When was the last time you checked Glassdoor or even Better Business Bureau to see what is being said about your business? Last year or never! Imagine your companies rating is down the toilet and you are promoting 'excellent culture, great leadership and people values' - Guess what rating you are going to get?

Time to pick up the seat and start cleaning and improving your image!

For the interested and motivated amongst us, here are some technical details that you need to share with whoever is responsible for your Careers/Jobs page: Google Jobs Techie Stuff! And don't forget to share and educate those member's of staff who are responsible for writing the job ad copy - great time to upskill them!

P.S. - 3PR you are warned as well - time to re-think!

Cheers everyone,

John
