- The jobholder reports directly to Head of Head of Well Services Engineer, the job holder is accountable for all task related to well testing, supervising and following up with well testing contractor, and work with other Drilling and Well Services personnel to achieve objectives of drilling department.
- Provides technical leadership in the design of cost‐effective and safe well testing programs, well testing interpretation models, innovative reservoir characterization/well testing studies and comprehensive data archiving programs.
- Develops well completion and well testing procedures and programs to ensure safe and efficient operations by introducing innovative program / technique and setting key performance indicator for the project teams.
- Liaise with the well testing contractor in Kuala Lumpur and supervise well testing operations at rig site as and when required or requested by Company. Improve operational efficiency by applying wherever possible the latest state of the art technology in all facets of well testing during development drilling, completion and work over operations.
- Supports operations by proactively handling well testing operations, analyzing test data and provide technical expertise. Contributes to improve the performance while maintaining proper standards for HSE. Provides input to the resolving well testing issues and assists contractor for timely close out.
- Conducts engineering and technical studies associated with well testing in order to increase competitiveness and improve well integrity. Lead improvements, develop a basis for required field testing and management review, analyze results and recommend new or changed procedures and processes.
- Develops technical specifications and scope of work for well testing equipment and well testing support services for tender packages to be in line with the engineering standards and meeting the operational requirement.
- To review the technical bids received from the bidders in response to the issued tenders and provide technical comments highlighting the merits and deficiencies of each bidder.
- Prepares technical queries arising from the evaluation of the bids and seek clarifications from the bidders.
- Prepares technical evaluation report to qualify / disqualify the bidders under each service with detailed explanation / reasons.
- Assists commercial team to prepare price bid evaluation matrix clearly mentioning the actual requirements of each bidder required for commercial evaluation.
- Prepares final technical scope of work incorporating the discussions / clarifications received from the bidders during evaluation phase which shall be included in the final contract.
- Supervises and follows‐up well testing contracts. Ensures that the contractor fully adheres to the safety, work procedures, technical specifications and the operations are carried out as per the program and within Company’s policy.
- Keep a constant feedback of the operations and advise when necessary if the program is needed to be adjusted due to well conditions. In case of anomaly, report immediately and propose course of actions. Follow up with field day‐to‐day operations and submit proper reporting according to hierarchical channels. Ensure Well Testing report as designed to be composed for each well with comments, feedback and failures if any attached.
- Others as reasonably requested by Company and required to carry out the duties.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent.
- Trained in Well Control / Offshore Survival and fire Fighting.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in various types of Well Testing System in various areas in a supervisory capacity especially Well Testing with mono‐bore tubing completion design.
