Job Opportunity: Traffic Safety Engineer & Traffic Analysis Engineer in Vancouver, WA!
Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently looking for two enthusiastic engineers who have a passion for creative and innovative solutions for the state-highway transportation system to join Southwest Region’s Traffic Office. We are looking for entry-level or mid-level engineers, as well as college students projected to graduate from an engineering program within six months, who want to dive into all elements of traffic safety, traffic analysis, and traffic operations. We are seeking to fill a Traffic Analysis Engineer?position and a?Traffic Safety Engineer?position.
In these roles, you will support WSDOT’s goals of Target Zero and Practical Solutions. The Transportation Engineer 2 (TE2) serves as a fundamental role in identifying, analyzing, documenting, and implementing safety and operations-driven projects and assisting in other work and documentation used to improve the safety, quality, and capacity of the State’s Transportation System. These positions assist with day-to-day traffic safety operations, constituent responses, operational reviews, design and implementation of safety related projects in coordination with WSDOT Maintenance and local agencies, as well as management of traffic related databases and related records for the Traffic Office. The TE2 also reviews plans for WSDOT, local agency, and developer projects and provides feedback for traffic related items to ensure conformity with agency and federal practices, policies, and procedures. The duties and responsibilities contribute to the achievement of the mission, goals, and objectives of the organization and are vital to the WSDOT responding in a timely, efficient, and safe manner to all internal and external requests within the SW Region Traffic Office.
