Job Opportunity: Traffic Engineer for Operations in Spokane, WA!

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) Eastern Region is currently seeking an experienced professional to serve as the Traffic Engineer for Operations in Spokane, WA. In this role, you will work closely with the region leadership team, Maintenance and Engineering managers, and Project Engineers to direct, develop and operate the complex functions of traffic operations. These range from extremely rural to highly urbanized freeway systems that include ramp meters, CCTV, traffic signal systems, ITS devices, modeling, data analysis of existing conditions, congestion management and operations, incident response team (IRT) operations, and includes testing/demonstration of new technology for potential use. The Eastern Region Traffic Engineer for Operations provides leadership to the groups of Traffic Operations, Traffic Signal and Electrical Maintenance, Traffic Management Center, Incident Response Team, Ramp Meter Operations and Algorithms. In this role, you will provide traffic engineering management, which includes strategic planning and policy development related to the current and future operations of the region’s multi-modal transportation system.
