SENIOR QUANTITY SURVEYOR

Location: Manchester

Role: An award winning, family run business with a great reputation. This client works within a variety of civil engineering and construction contracts, ranging in value from ￡5,000 to ￡15million in value. They work with an already diverse range yet growing list of clients. Ideally, you will have already worked in a similar role for a civil engineering contractor, pricing works involving civil engineering, earthworks, concrete, drainage, and remediation etc.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll be part of an established team of Quantity Surveyors and will assist in the day-to-day financial management of allocated contracts, including procurement, monitoring and payment of nominated subcontractors. Your main responsibilities will include:

• Managing monthly cost reports, as well as forecasting cost and value accurately from commencement of a project through to project completion on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
• Prompt submission of interim and final valuations
• Reviewing contract progress and proactively address issues, including the issuing of relevant notices as required.
• Reviewing all issues, providing solutions, costs and advice to ensure successful project completion.
• Ensuring cash flow is maintained and providing early forecasting of any shortfall.
• The procurement, placement of orders, payment, monitoring and review of subcontractors.
• Agreeing final accounts with clients and subcontractors

Skills/Experience:?An experienced Quantity Surveyor, you’ll be commercially aware, contractually astute and conversant in the NEC Suite of Contracts; FIDIC, ICC and JCT contracts.?

In addition, you'll be expected to be enthusiastic, an excellent team player and equally comfortable working alone. You’ll be able to show us a successful track record of the commercial management of civil engineering projects.
