ROLE SUMMARY :

As a Senior Manager in Corporate Communications, PR & Branding, you will play a crucial role in shaping and enhancing our organization’s reputation, brand, and external communication strategies. Your responsibilities will span across various areas, including public relations, media relations, industry relations, and brand management. The candidate needs to have the ability to lead others in assuring existing or new, upcoming communication tools and media channels are fully leveraged to assure proper communication.

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:?

To strategically manage and enhance the company's communication efforts both internally and externally. This role plays a critical part in shaping the company's reputation, fostering positive relationships with stakeholders, and promoting its brand and values.

KEY RESPONSIBILITY:

1. Strategic Leadership:

  • Provide strategic direction for corporate communications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals. Set up a regional corporate communication strategy for PIL group ( all entities in the region) and a strategy for all platform.
  • Balance execution across public relations, media relations, and industry relations.
  • Oversee the implementation of communication plans across various platforms and channels to ensure effective dissemination of key messages.
  • Handle crisis communications effectively, maintaining transparency and timely communication with stakeholders.
  • Enhance the profile of the "company behind the brand" through strategic corporate branding initiatives.

2. Event Management:

  • Oversee the plan corporate events to be organized by MD/GM.
  • Collaborate with executives to ensure successful event execution.

3. Corporate Narrative & Messaging:

  • Support the development of the corporate narrative and key messages.
  • Champion the company’s vision and brand through strategic communication initiatives.

4. Enterprise Communications:

  • Lead planning and execution of key enterprise communication deliverables.
  • Develop annual and as-needed communication strategies aligned with business priorities.
  • Innovate approaches to ensure employees engage with strategic content.

5. MD/GM Support:

  • Assist in content creation for the MD/GM, including the Annual Leadership Conference/Strategic meetings/Annual company events.

6. Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a team of communication professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure high performance and professional development.
  • Supervise and manage the Sustainability function and the Social Media and Digital requirement, fostering collaboration and synergy within the team.

7. Content Development & Management:

  • Oversee the creation of compelling content for various communication channels, including press releases, website content, and social media posts.
  • Ensure consistency and accuracy of messaging across all communication materials.

8. Monitoring & Analysis:

  • Monitor media coverage and industry trends to identify opportunities and potential risks.
  • Analyze communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of strategies and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.

9. Website & Social Media Management:

  • Design and manage content on PIL websites to ensure alignment with corporate messaging and branding.
  • Oversee social media platforms such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, and e-commerce websites, leveraging them to enhance brand visibility and engagement.

10. Centralized Media Coordination:

  • Act as a centralized function for the group, coordinating all media-related matters with factories and entities.
  • Establish standard communication channels for promoting brands across the group, minimizing discrepancies in brand identity.

11. Budget Planning & Management:

  • Plan, develop, and submit annual Corporate Communication departmental budgets to facilitate management decision-making.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE :

  1. Having at least 10 years of experience in Corporate Communication/Public Relations/Corporate Affair/Corporate Communications of an international or a large organization with 5 years in managerial position.
  2. Proven leadership skills with experience in managing and motivating teams.
  3. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, with the ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
  4. Strong understanding of digital and social media platforms and their role in communication strategies.
  5. Experience in crisis management and media relations.
  6. Strategic thinker with the ability to anticipate trends and adapt communication strategies accordingly.
  7. Proficiency in relevant software and tools for content creation and analysis.

EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:

Master/ Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or related field.?
