Cyber Security Engineer

We are looking for a Cyber Security Engineer to support the development and maintenance for the organization’s policies, procedures, and support the enforcement and auditing of these policies. You will support the continuous monitoring of our systems, and the ongoing operation of our IPS/IDS systems. You will ensure compliance and identify security weaknesses and vulnerabilities using approved tools and by reviewing and analyzing scanning results and providing recommendations concerning vulnerability and mitigation efforts.

A Day in the Life Will Likely Include:

• Support the implementation of new security solutions, participate in the creation and maintenance of policies, standards, baselines, guidelines and procedures (InfoSec)
• Support the enforcement of security policies across the organization.
• Conduct vulnerability audits and assessments.
• Prepare and execute security test plans, and assess security control effectiveness.
• Work with software engineering team to ensure that security policies, standards, best practices and guidelines are adhered to.
• Sounds good? What You’ll Need to Land this Job:
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols
• Strong Understanding of network topology
• Experience configuring and maintaining security applications like IPS/IDS, SIEM's systems and Firewalls
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or equivalent degree and/or work experience
• 10 years of experience working in IT organizations and technical environments
• Self-motivated with a desire to learn everything you can about information security.
• Have a sense of urgency in relation to cyber attacks.
• Possess excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Experience with cloud security, especially AWS
• Other skills that would really be awesome:
• Experience doing security assessment surveys
• Experience with Qualys, Trend Micro Deep Security, Veracode and Sumo Logic

?            Palo Alto firewalls- MUST

?            AWS Services: EC2, Lambda, CloudWatch, CloudFormation etc.

?            Experience in incident response- important next year

?            Auditing experience – MUST

o            SOC 2 experience – focus on controls surrounding information security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality, and privacy

?            Internal audit experience, configuration management

?            Experience securing and delivery CI/CD pipeline

?            Cloud security, AWS- MUST

?            Configuring end point security – no specific tools required

?            Vulnerability management – no specific tools required

?            Exposure to server security nice to have

?            Strong in Linux

?            Strong in networking protocols

?            Should have some firewalls and rack/stack hardware experience
