Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Technical Engineer to serve as the Reporting Authorization Engineer responsible for managing statewide local government capital transportation projects. This position is the final independent reviewer of Local Agency Agreements, Project Prospectuses, Federal Aid Agreements, and all supporting documentation necessary to ensure authorization by the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and/or the Local Programs Director/or designee. By managing, maintaining, and tracking engineering approvals related to project development and delivery, this position is responsible for ensuring that all statewide local government capital projects are in reasonable compliance with the Local Agency Guidelines (LAG) Manual and the federal and state regulatory requirements. In addition, the department's complex statewide local information system and data management functions are managed by this position to develop, manage, and report on all local capital projects. The Reporting Authorization Engineer is responsible for carrying out fundamental checks and examinations of reports on state and provincial conveyance information and establishing the foundations for issues and patterns of multisource-subsidized local capital ventures. The incumbent also serves as the technical expert for the local Emergency Relief program and statewide federal reporting on the Congestion Mitigation & Air Quality program. These duties support the mission of our organization in implementing our Stewardship Agreement with FHWA in overseeing Federal Aid projects for the local agencies of Washington State.
