Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Technician 3 to independently perform skilled journey-level technical work in support of engineering projects to include construction, design, and general office support. This position exercises initiative and judgment in independently carrying out assignments according to established policies, procedures, and standards. These assignments include providing essential support in monitoring contractor’s activities during construction; ensuring project work is performed in accordance with contract documents; independently performing materials sampling, and testing and acceptance procedures; and assisting project inspectors in performing daily inspection and audits of work performed. The Transportation Technician 3 may be assigned sole responsibility for inspection duties on smaller projects or specific items of work on larger projects.
