Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Property & Acquisition Specialist 5 (PAS5) to apply independent judgment and advanced technical knowledge, with limited supervision to appraise and review complex and non-complex eminent domain, surplus properties, and owner’s appraisals in compliance with Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice (USPAP), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), and WSDOT rules and regulations. These property rights include total and partial fee, permanent and non-permanent easements, leases, and other property rights. This position supports and contributes to the WSDOT mission and vision, strategic plan, goals and priorities by the appraisal of a wide variety of property rights needed to deliver WSDOT transportation projects. The work produced is used to determine feasibility, establish budgets, and acquire and dispose of property in connection with WSDOT transportation projects which allows the department to complete its mission.
