Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is seeking a motivated leader to fill the Project Development Engineer position in Southwest Region. Reporting to the Assistant Regional Administrator for Engineering, this position is responsible and accountable to lead and manage all design phases of the Southwest Region development and delivery program. This includes leadership, policy guidance, management, and oversight of the following sections: Engineering Services, Environmental Services, Real Estate Services, four Area Engineering Offices, and one Consultant Management Office. The incumbent is responsible to ensure that all design phases of the Southwest Region development and delivery program are administered and designed to meet all local, State, Tribal, and Federal laws, rules, and guidelines, as well as all State and Federal environmental and right of way policies. The Project Development Engineer is integral to developing other employees in the region and learning and implementing WSDOT’s Strategic Plan. The incumbent will ensure that community needs and preferences are met and is expected to lead Southwest Region development and delivery program with a service-oriented mindset with a focus on service for both internal and external customers.
