Job Opportunity: Principal Multimodal Planner in Vancouver, WA!

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Planning Specialist 5 to serve as the Principal Multimodal Planner in Vancouver, WA. The objective of this position is to facilitate planning and implementation of Complete Streets consistent with WSDOT’s vision for a safe, sustainable, and integrated multimodal transportation system and with FHWA direction to plan, develop and operate equitable streets and networks that prioritize safety, comfort, and connectivity to destinations for everyone. As a member of the region planning office, the incumbent will lead and contribute toward the completion of deliverables listed for region planning, as detailed in the State Planning and Research Program (SPR). They will also provide consulting expertise, represent WSDOT externally, and contribute toward statewide policy and process development. They will work with others across the agency, advancing efforts to plan, develop and operate equitable streets and networks that prioritize safety, comfort, and connectivity to destinations for everyone. To thrive in this role, qualified individuals will need to possess senior planner-level skills, embrace continuous process improvement, and have a strong commitment to advancing the policy goals of WSDOT.
