Maintenance & Operations Superintendent (WMS Band 3) Tacoma, WA – Olympic Region ? $97,680 – $125,304 Annually ? Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Maintenance & Operations Superintendent for Thurston and Pierce Counties in the Olympic Region (OR)! This position directs and coordinates use of resources to operate, preserve, and maintain the OR’s Area 1 maintenance area by overseeing and managing the budget and personnel and ensuring that state resources allotted to the area are being used in a responsible and economically sound manner. Area 1's resources include an approximate $18 million biennial budget; approximately 90 employees; the only designated full-time night-crew in the region; six area facilities (Lakewood, Tumwater, Alder, Yelm, Buckley, and Puyallup); the Tacoma Narrows Bridge; and over 1,200 lane miles of roadway. Additionally, Area 1 has the most stormwater features in the OR and 95% of the total National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) area and spans multiple fish bearing streams and rivers and is habitat to threatened or endangered species.
