Job Title - Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Projects - include Residential, Commercial, Healthcare

Based - Cheshire based office / Cheshire & Manchester based projects

The client

A high quality, bespoke residential and commercial building contractor based in Cheshire. An award winning contractor with an excellent reputation require a Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to work on multi-million, bespoke residential and commercial projects. This established contractor / developer has been creating and designing beautiful bespoke homes and Commercial Buildings for over 15 years.

Duties for Assistant Quantity Surveyor

To assist the Senior QS in all commercial aspects of the project

To send out all subcontract enquiries and carry out cost comparisons for the Senior QS

To assist placing all subcontractor orders in good time

To meet with the Senior QS every single subcontractor and take the minutes at the pre-order meeting with the PM and site manager and then distribute to all.

To assist the site manager with general queries and pushing subcontractors

To assist in carrying out fortnightly valuations and get certificates as quickly as possible

To help pick up and record all variations and report costs to the PQS on a regular basis

To help formulate the monthly cost reports, loading into the spreadsheet the costs to date and assisting the Senior QS to look at future costs and value.

To help finalise all Final accounts as quickly as possible, ideally before PC is achieved but the aim is no longer than 2 months after.

To attend contract reviews with the site team on a regular basis

To assist in ensuring all invoices are signed off on a weekly basis and passed to accounts

To help procure and provide samples and options for the client and quotes for new work / variations to the project.

To assist in providing the site manager with RAMS for all subcontractors prior to them starting on site

To attend site meetings

The candidate

Ideally a relevant degree

All applicants must be able to complete / have experience in all duties

Must have experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for a residential contractor A minimum of 2 years’ work experience (on site and in the office)

Salary and Benefits

￡30,000 - ￡35,000
