Job Opportunity: Assistant Corridor Operations Engineer (In-Training) in Vancouver, WA!

Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Transportation Engineer 3 to serve as an Assistant Corridor Operations Engineer?in Southwest Region’s Traffic Management Center, located in Vancouver, WA. The Southwest Region Traffic Management Center is the only one in the state directly collocated in the same room with a Washington State Patrol Communications Center. As such, this position will analyze in real time, utilizing various program and personnel inputs to maximize reliability and efficiency of the Transportation System.?The incumbent will apply in depth and diversified knowledge of Traffic Operations and develop integrated plans and procedures with local agencies. In this role, you will also be the primary point of contact with field personnel and local agencies during a freeway or arterial emergency. Decisions made by this position can affect the life, safety, and the flow of traffic on the freeway and regional arterial systems. This is an in-training position, allowing candidates to be considered at the Transportation Engineer 1, 2, or 3 level depending upon their qualifications. Candidates who qualify at the 1 or 2 level will enter a formal in-training plan that offers a career path to the Transportation Engineer 3 level through on-the-job training and development.
