Canada Ontario Job Grant (COJG)

The Canada-Ontario Job Grant (the Job Grant) provides an opportunity for employers to invest in their workforce, with help from the government.

You can request training funds from Employers as part of the COJG or as part of skills upgrade policies do various companies. Consult our team today!

The Job Grant will provide direct financial support to individual employers who wish to purchase training for their employees. It will be available to small, medium and large businesses with a plan to deliver short-term training to existing and new employees, and will:

• Provide up to $10,000 in government support per person for training costs.
• Require employers to contribute one-sixth of the total costs. There will be additional flexibility for small businesses to provide an in-kind contribution towards their share of the costs.
• Require training to be delivered by an eligible, third-party trainer.

If you're an employer with a particular skills demand, the Canada-Ontario Job Grant might be right for you. Applications will be accepted on an ongoing basis.

Employment Insurance (EI) Training Support?Benefit that would provide eligible workers with up to four weeks of income support, paid at 55 percent of average weekly insurable earnings, to be taken within a four-year period when they require time off work to train;

Better Jobs Ontario

Better Jobs Ontario (formerly Second Career) is an Ontario government program that helps eligible applicants with financial support to gain necessary skills training for in-demand jobs in their community.

It is a cost-sharing grant provided on the basis of need, which provides funding help up to?$28,000?to pay for:

• tuition
• books
• other instructional costs, including student fees, supplies and electronic devices
• transportation
• basic living allowance (maximum $410 per week)

Additional funding may be available for:

• childcare
• disability-related supports
• living away from home
• Literacy and Basic Skills (LBS) and/or language training
