The GET board of Non-Executive Directors and the Chair of the GET board as appropriate.

Job Purpose
?
The Finance Director will act as Treasurer, and will provide sound financial administration, support and information to the Chief Executive and the GET Board, as well as providing financial information to the commissioning body (States of Guernsey), as required.?To oversee the outsourced payments/payroll/bookkeeping provider, Offshore Group, and produce quarterly management accounts and annual Financial Statements.
This is a voluntary role and whilst volunteering the post holder will comply with all relevant law and regulations as they apply to GET.
Time commitment
The equivalent to three quarters of a day per month.
Responsibilities
To uphold the responsibilities of a board member of GET, as outlined in the Articles of Association.
Quarterly (approximately half a day to a day per quarter)
·???????Post non-cash entries (Employment & Social Security retained staff data and releases of deferred income)
·???????Review trial balance (Offshore Group/GET maintain all the cash postings and reconcile the bank account)
·???????Prepare Management Accounts and circulate to the GET board
·???????Attend and actively participate in Quarterly Board Meetings and provide verbal commentary on Management Accounts, showing a commitment to understanding the key discussions points and aims of GET.
Annually (approximately 3 days a year in total)
·???????Draw up annual budget and financial plan with GET’s Chief Executive and the Finance team at Employment & Social Security
·???????Prepare Financial Statements and related schedules for examination and approval by the GET board at a quarterly board meeting, as per scheduling of the Annual Obligations Cycle.
Ad Hoc
·???????Support Chief Executive with Financials for Grant applications (possibly once or twice a year)
·???????Advise Chief Executive regarding headroom for out of budget expenditure / headcount changes
·???????Support with Service Level Agreement renewal with Commissioner (not due until December 2026)
·???????Contribute to the strategic aims and future development of GET and attend additional strategy meetings as required by the Chair.
·???????Willingness to complete various tasks or engage in discussions which support the work of the Chief Executive to promote GET or to deliver its services.
