Role & responsibilities

Position Overview: You will be a part of Module Reliability team and lead a team of junior engineers and collaborate with cross-functional departments, and work closely with several customers to ensure the product quality is on par with Tier 1 Module manufacturers through reliability lab testing, standards, policies & regulations.

§? Ensure that QMS (Quality Management System)/ISO/Document Management is in place and functioning optimally for the assigned Business Unit(s). - Drive continuous improvement in quality for dept and cross departments through mechanisms such as SPC (Statistical Process Control) & FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis), etc. - Support the Operations team working collaboratively for the smooth running of production in quality assurance through Module reliability testing lab.

§? Experience in Setting up, selection of equipments and Operations management of solar module reliability testing lab.

?

Assuring Quality of PV Modules through :

• IQC ?and verification of incoming materials
• Thorough knowledge about PV Module quality & Cell parameters. Good knowledge about PV module manufacturing.
• Hands on experience of PV Module acceptance and Reliability lab testing.
• In depth, knowledge about BOM used in Modules and its selection critical parameters.
• Knowledge about statistical sampling plans.
• Experience of Calibration of Sun simulators and preparation of calibration Masters.
• Knowledge and understanding of BIS/IEC/UL standards and MNRE requirements.
• Skill of doing assessment and factory audits of Module Plants.

Preferred candidate profile

Candidates with manufacturing background from Quality department of Solar module manufacturing plant is preferred.

Desirable Skills

§? Research structures and properties of materials and material interactions to ensure reliable operation of the solar modules for the warranty duration.

§? Develop or qualify new materials, as necessary.

§? Develop plans for and subject materials, coupons, and modules to a broad set environmental and weathering conditions. Analyze and present results and devise next course of action.?

§? Design and develop new reliability test techniques methods and procedures. Follow industry standard reliability protocols. Develop custom reliability plans where necessary.

§? Work closely with design, product, process, test, and operations teams to ensure system and component reliability goals are met.

§? Lead Company’s programs to achieve extended reliability status and reliability scorecard targets.

§? Perform failure analysis, root cause studies, and put corrective actions in place.?

§? Participate in and lead new product development activities when required.?

§? Set up and manage in-house and external test labs.

§? 5 or more years of direct experience in PV reliability engineering working for a solar panel manufacturer

§? Hands-on experience of solar panel manufacturing, accelerated testing, and failure analysis

§? Hands-on experience of setting up and operating reliability test equipment, performance test equipment, and metrology equipment

§? Direct experience of testing solar components at material, module, and system level for reliability and performance

§? Direct experience of certification, compliance, and extended reliability testing of solar panels

§? Highly skilled in one or more programming languages, lab tools, data analytics and analysis

§? Direct interaction with customers for resolving the field issues are highly desirable.

Qualifications

B.E/B.Tech with 5yrs or Diploma with several years of experience in module reliability engineering.
