A maritime bunkering company whit core business in Africa, with subsidiaries (Gabon, Congo, Angola, South Africa, Mozambique and Namibia) and partners that has been operating along the African coast since 1959 and can meet all the requirements of vessels operating in the area, with reliability and responsiveness.
They are seeking a Junior Logistics Controller with experience in Africa to join their team in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of our company's international logistics operations into Africa. The ideal candidate should have a background in logistics and supply chain management, as well as a good understanding of the African market and customs regulations would be advantageous.

Position Details:
Job description / core competencies:
Coordinating and executing all aspects of our company's export logistics operations
Managing and monitoring the transportation of goods from the point of origin to the final destination
Liaising with customers, suppliers, and transportation companies to ensure timely delivery of goods
Supporting traders by finding the most cost-effective solution to transport cargo
Providing support to the senior logistics team as required
Maintaining accurate records of shipments, including customs documentation and transportation costs
Conducting market research and analysis to stay up to date with the African market and customs regulations
Knowledge of pre-shipment inspection requirements for African countries will be advantageous
Identifying and resolving any logistical issues that may arise during the transportation process

Managing and tracking shipments to ensure clients are notified of any delays affecting on-time delivery
Preparing and presenting reports on export logistics activities as required
Updating ERP documentation from order to final invoice posting

Job Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
Bachelor's degree in logistics, supply chain management or a related field
At least 2 years of experience in export logistics, preferably in an African context
Knowledge of African customs regulations and import/export laws advantageous
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel – Moderate to Advanced skills
