This is an expat role. The successful person must be well versed in Portuguese (if not then at least French or Italian). The position is based in Maputo but will be responsible for the Pemba Bay Operations. Therefore, travelling to and from Maputo to Pemba will be required. The current operations is small but the opportunity (and expectations) for growth is good and the position holder will be expected to grow the business footprint in Mozambique.
The Mozambican entity is a part of a global service company involved in the Energy sector in supply chain, offshore and onshore. It is dealing both in Food and Industrial goods.
The Business Unit manager position is based in Maputo, Mozambique is in charge of the management and business development of the activities of the Group's Mozambican subsidiary, with a strong presence in Pemba. The position will be responsible for developing the activities of the subsidiary by implementing the Group commercial strategy as well as ensuring a smooth and robust ground operation out of our Pemba facility and will report directly to the Group MD and Country manager

The main areas of responsibilities will focus on:
1.??????Operations' Management
·???????? Ensure optimal client satisfaction and positive clients 'relationship and attend to all clients' requests and issues arising from operations.
·???????? Manage the supply chain coordination, local and international procurement with Group entities and third parties
·???????? Ensure complete and on time order deliveries
·???????? Establish and implement logistics planification
·???????? Ensure the compliance to all statutory obligations
2.??????Management
·???????? Responsible of the overall BU profitability across the various activities including Budget control and Profit & Loss monitoring
·???????? Responsible for managing the following human resources functions
o???Recruitment - Assist with necessary recruitment to ensure optimal and profitable service delivery
o???Performance management - Participate in regular personal evaluations, KPI appraisals
o???General staff management - Manage absenteeism, poor performance and any HR related issues
o???Compliance – Ensure compliance to local HR and related legislation

3.??????Warehouse and Stock management
·???????? Implementation of group processes, strict daily, weekly, monthly inventory management
·???????? Ensuring teams adherence to processes and stock levels always matching ERP data
·???????? Define and implement optimal warehouse management and organisation
·???????? Ensure cold chain is preserved and adherence to food health regulations international best practices
4.??????Commercial Development
·???????? Drive the promotion of all the products' ranges
·???????? Perform the commercial follow up to ensure sales are generated
·???????? Perform planning with the Team on commercial actions and report on results
5.??????Infrastructure Management and Control
·???????? Management and maintenance of the assets: warehouse, cold rooms, racking, plant equipment, vehicles etc.
·???????? Source and manage the service providers needed to ensure suitable preventive maintenance to avoid down time on any equipment
·???????? Ensure special care on refrigeration units to avoid break down and down time
