JMI contributes to new Strategic Plan to tackle modern slavery in NSW

This week, we were delighted to co-host the launch of the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner James Cockayne ’s first Strategic Plan, welcoming hundreds of leaders to Parliament of NSW .
Working Together for Real Freedom sets out the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner’s roadmap to tackle modern slavery in the state over the next three years.
JMI has worked in partnership with the Office of the NSW Anti-slavery Commissioner for over 9 months to develop the plan, helping to bring a wide range of experts into the early phases of its development.
The launch event Parliament of NSW was attended by over 200 participants from across government, industry, civil society, academia, and many survivors of modern slavery. We thank The Hon. Michael Daley, NSW Attorney-General, James Cockayne , Sophie Otiende , Richard Boele , Joseph La Posta , Poonam Datar , Moe Turaga and all our other wonderful speakers and performers.
