Your first-year marketing out of college is very critical in remaining relevant by joining J&M. Marketing becomes more difficult in years 2 and 3. Realistically, you have two years to make a top tier league. Three years if you are graced and fortunate. The window is small and fragile. After age 27, you are considered old by NFL and even some other league standards. There are not too many NFL Kurt Warner stories. Never say never... as underdogs are everywhere, but our process has allowed for client success stories.

Pro Football is a ladder of leagues. J&M only deals in creditable leagues that are considered sustainable, that offer top quality competition for player ascension.

It is our opinion at J&M that the CFL, UFL are the next two leagues behind the NFL in compensation and level of competition with the IFL, AFL and GFL1 being great ground level league development options in getting future contracts with the NFL, CFL and UFL.

CFL 12 Man Football

Get your passport ready. No passport, no job. Nine teams are in the CFL. All prospects should be considering the CFL pre-NFL draft period with the WO's starting every March into early May in attending them. Surf the CFL for announcements and register per team guidelines. Exposure is recommended and attaining consistent metrics at multiple CFL team WO's across the United States for marketing to teams by your Representative Agents and Marketing Firm while pursuing an NFL career during the Draft period.

If you do not get picked up before May camps, it would be wise to remain ready through training with the idea of being entered into a teams scouting database as a FA for a private team WO when players go to injured reserve to be considered by CFL organizations post NFL draft football. Prospects do not always consider what the CFL can do for their career!

11 Man UFL

The UFL is a 2024 merger of XFL divisional and USFL divisional remaining teams that are operational which is 8 teams in their first season this 2024. League stability was further preserved by the XFL and USFL merger.

The CFL is the oldest league in all of pro football. The CFL is a stable league. It is our opinion that the CFL and UFL are your best options to come in the NFL back door based on demonstrating dominant play in your league of choice. Pay is between 60,000 $100,000 typically in verifying factors based on common industry knowledge.

Europe GFL Developmental 11 Man

Get your passport. No passport, no job. The GFL originated in 1979 as an American Football League in Germany. Recruiting is team centric. No league combine tryouts and no Draft. The regular season is from April to September Playoffs start in September and end in October with the German Bowl. The posted team signing deadline on 6-30 yearly and GFL recruiting is generally in the winter. Pay is stipend based with housing per team with no known CBA.

The GFL1 will give you opportunities to get creditable film to market yourself on your return to the United States in what many feel is the highest level of competition internationally, below the CFL. (IFL) Indoor Football League 8 man

As a coach that has been with IFL QCS (2019-2020) and IFL Iowa (2023) J&M sees the IFL as a stable feeder league partnered to the XFL division of the UFL. Compensation is team centric with housing with no collective bargaining agreement. You won't get a large amount of compensation, but the league has great exposure and many past and present IFL players have garnered attention and even contracts in the NFL, CFL, XFL, USFL and original AFL 1. Team recruiting and open tryouts start in the Fall and end in February before camp in early March. The IFL regular season begins in mid to late March to later July. The playoffs start in late July with the IFL National Championship in Las Vegas in August. For more information go to goifl.com.

(AFL Reboot) Arena Football League 8 man

The AFL has 16 teams in 2024. Recruiting is team centric. The camp reporting period is April 1st, 2024, at the earliest. The regular season is from the end of April to the end of June. AFL playoffs beginning July up to the Arena Bowl. For more AFL information go to arenafootballusa.com.
