What do witchers have to do with Mockito???? How could Microsoft use ChatGPT???? Is a frontend war coming???? And what #book is worth reading??

We invite you to the monthly review of news from the world of #IT.?

1.Recently a lot of #QA topics on our blog, so what’s new in the testing world??

#Aqua is a software testing tool developed by #JetBrains for ensuring the quality and reliability of applications. It provides a comprehensive suite of testing tools for both manual and automated testing, including:??

  • functional testing?
  • performance testing?
  • security testing?

Aqua integrates with JetBrains' popular development tools, such as IntelliJ #IDEA and #PyCharm, to offer an integrated development and testing environment. With Aqua, developers can??

  • quickly and easily test their applications??
  • find and fix issues?
  • ensure high quality code before releasing it to production??

From a perspective of Pawel Dolny , an automation test engineer at Jit Team, thus tool quite looks like and intriguing and handy addition to the mentioned IDEs, making it a great resource and it’s definitely worth a try.?

2. Mocking constructors, final classes, and static methods will now be easier, but should it be? - Wojciech Zi?ba

Version 5 of #Mockito once again proves that it's a #framework we shall not need, but we DO deserve it.

We deserve it for every piece of code that we had had to write without thinking about its #testability. We are then left with a plethora of untested code because there was no simple tooling to do it. We shall not forget about that code! Just because it is a worse code (and it is, let's not fool ourselves), it doesn't mean that people writing it didn’t have their reasons (lack of time amongst many).?

If you're already in the hell of legacy code, you have been now handed over a tool to make it tiny bit better.?

Always keep in mind though: make it a weapon to fight monsters - don't join them. Good code is clean testable code.?

Good witcher knows when to pull the silver sword and when it's better to refactor our monsters and spare their lives ???

3. #ChatGPT is quite a fashionable topic lately, so it could not be missing in our list.?

"The future is now, old man"

- we all know this famous quote from Malcolm in the Middle, right?

Well, ChatGPT showed us recently that we can "google" information in new and amazing ways. Since #Microsoft is a major stakeholder of #OpenAI… why not put ChatGPT into Microsoft's #Bing search engine?

Oskar Maksymiuk , Jit Team’s software engineer, stands in awe of Bing’s new search alternative. See the results for yourself in this article:

And that's not the end! There are rumors that Microsoft wants to put ChatGPT into products like #Word, #PowerPoint and #Outlook!??

Just think about it – ChatGPT could compose content for you slides for any project progress meeting...?

Also, did you hear about Google’s Bard #AI - https://blog.google/technology/ai/bard-google-ai-search-updates/ ? Are we on the brink of great competition of search engine providers??

4. It's never too late to learn something new!?

Take a look at this great opportunity to polish your #DevOps and #Azure knowledge offered by Microsoft.

Starting with core concepts of #Cloud Computing to sample scenarios and explaining best practices - it's all available for you for free! Don't miss the blog posts - Microsoft experts publish amazing #Kubernetes-related content every week day until the end of #February.?

5. It looks like a start of a new FrontEnd war…??

Not an article but a thread on GitHub:

Looks like a start of a new #FrontEnd war. Alternatives to #Webpack and Create #React App (CRA) were growing over last few years and now they claim their place at the table.?

Maciej Mikulski , Jit Team’s senior front-end developer, has gone through the #GitHub thread and concludes that under the surface it's also about the future of Server Side Rendering.??

But check it out for yourself!???

6. And last but not least… #JitBooks recommendation from Wojciech Kowalczyk

Erin Mayer in her publication ?The Culture Map” shows how cultural differences impact international business. Forget about Hofstede's cultural dimensions theory – Erin’s perspective presents it in a riveting and absorbing way, thanks to differentiating aspects such as #communicating, #evaluating, #persuading, decision making and many more as separate elements. Thanks to this research, working in multicultural environment gives possibility to provide the best strategies for our clients. Wojtek, Jit Team’s Business Analyst, believes that it’s a perfect #guide for international #communication, not only for #BusinessAnalysts or project managers.?

Are cultural difference important or should we just ignore them??

For sure not – having this knowledge, anyone would be able to navigate cultural differences like a boss. As #technology advances, #cultural understanding and being aware of differences are the key to the success.

Every #JitTeam employee, no matter of the responsibility – and not only - must overcome cultural obstacle while working with our international clients, as IT is not only code ????

?? It’s a must-read!

Great book recommendation from Wojtek! I agree 100% - never underestimate cultural differences when working with people from other countries. My input would be to just be open-minded and admire a vast diversity we have in this World. Happy Fat Thursday y'all! ??
