Reliance Jio launches Jio SpaceFiber, India’s first satellite-based gigafiber internet service

During the opening of the three-day India Mobile Congress 2023, being held in New Delhi, Reliance Jio unveiled Jio SpaceFiber, India's first satellite-based GigaFiber service. Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited Akash Ambani launched the Jio SpaceFiber in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

What is Jio SpaceFiber?

The objective of the Jio SpaceFiber service is to deliver high-speed broadband connectivity to previously underserved regions throughout India. This service is set to be accessible throughout the entire country at highly competitive rates.

Financial influencers urge SEBI for clear guidelines on permissible activities

Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), recently imposed restrictions on Mohammad Nassiruddin, widely known as 'Baap of Charts' on social media, along with two other influencers.

They were barred from offering investment advice without the necessary registration, reigniting concerns about the risks associated with such content creators potentially misguiding investors under the guise of providing stock market education.

However, two well-known financial influencers, Super Trader Lakshya and Sivakumar, expressed their views on CNBC-TV18. They acknowledged that becoming a registered investment advisor is a challenging process and might be an unreasonable demand in the industry. Still, they emphasised the importance of influencers refraining from offering stock tips.

SEBI considers a new ‘high-risk’ category of mutual funds, seeks suggestion from AMFI

Securities market regulator, Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi), is in the process of formulating a new high-risk mutual fund category. Sebi has written to the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI), seeking comments and recommendations from asset management companies on the new mutual fund category. The proposed category will cater to investors with a high-risk appetite. According to sources, the funds in the new category will be allowed to invest in long-short strategies, junk bonds and microcap stocks.
