Remembering Colonel Jill Morgenthaler
When Jill enthusiastically shared with a group of us that she was selected to speak for The Moth #themoth, we had no idea what she was talking about.
The Moth is a well-known radio program that is known as selecting the best of the best stories and storytellers from thousands of applicants. The speakers share their story in front of a live audience.
No surprise Jill was selected. She is and forever will be the best storyteller and professional speaker I will ever know. I told her once, “When I grow up, I want to be you.”
Working with her was beyond an honor and privilege. She treated me like one of her friends who just helped her out with her marketing, website and planning. How lucky was I?
So, when she was selected for The Moth, we all rejoiced and expressed congratulations. After she recorded it in January of 2018, she was thrilled to have the experience. In addition, I do believe she received a standing ovation, of course. In her honor, the link is below and is some of my favorite of many, many of her stories. It was aired just this past November, most likely for Veteran’s Day. You will love it!

Subsequently, just this month, on February 12, our same group, her speaker mastermind group, which she leads, of course, received an email with, ‘Good News’ in the subject line. Always in humble fashion, never braggadocious. She sent us this message:
“I’m bursting with an announcement. I had to share it with someone. You guys are the best.
Johnson & Johnson is having a private Moth Mainstage and I have been selected! In New Jersey. Woo hoo!”
I replied with “Congratulations! When?”
“March 7!”
Moth MainStage in New Jersey will find someone to stand in, and as we know, it will be difficult to come close to filling her shoes. However, I do believe Jill will be there in spirit, doing what she does with her whole heart, uplifting and empowering her replacement to be the best he/she can be. Because she will always be with us because
