Jihad

My fellow earthlings, readers, and internauts, as you well know, on Saturday, the 7th of October 2023, Hamas, a Palestinian terrorist group, but also the government of Gaza, showed the whole wide world just how deadly they can be when they used drones to damage guard towers, after which their killers flew into Israeli territory with paragliders while others used explosives to blow holes in the border fence through which flying columns of thugs on motorbikes charged through to attack some military targets, but mostly to kill civilians, including young adults who attending a dance for peace, a loyal dog who tried to protect his people, men, women and children, including babies, more than one thousand four hundred souls. The Hamas terrorists also took several hostages and then fled back into the Gaza strip to await the Israeli response.

Israel calls the attack its 9/11, referring to the worst terror attack in American history, when al-Qaeda terrorists, Muslims all, flew two planes into the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center, symbols of American prosperity, power, and pride, and crashed one into the Pentagon, America’s military headquarters, killing more than three thousand people.

Who are these thugs?

According to most scholars, Hamas is a branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, an organization founded in 1928 in Egypt by Imam Hassan al-Banna. This is the same movement that spawned al-Qaeda, Osama bin Laden’s terrorist group who shocked the world and rocked the United States to its very foundation, Daesh which is also called ISIS, the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, who tried to establish a new caliphate, an Islamic state governed according to strict Islamic laws called sharia, who murdered captives by executing them en masse, sawing off their heads with knives, a slow, brutal, and painful way to die, and who burned others alive, to “strike terror into the hearts of the enemies of Allah.”

The root cause of this violence might run very deep. Unlike Jesus Christ, the world’s most famous Jew, believed by Christians, the world’s largest religion, to be the son of God, Confucius, the great Chinese sage who taught philosophy and was the first to come up with the golden rule of ethics, the idea that “what you do not wish for yourself, you should not do to others,” or Siddhartha Gautama, the man who became the Buddha, Muhammad ibn Abdall ah ibn Abd al -Mutt al ib, the prophet of Islam, was a warrior, a warlord, and a warmonger, who led armies into battle and ordered some of his followers to assassinate his enemies. He taught his followers to fight for his new religion and to spread it with the sword.

One of Muhammad’s followers asked him “What is the best deed?” He replied, “To believe in Allah and his apostle. “ The questioner then asked, “What is the next? The prophet said, “To take part in jihad (which is a holy war) in Allah’s cause”. Muhammad told his men to give non-Muslims only three choices: convert, submit, or die. Living at peace with people of other faiths, as equals, is not an option.

John Quincy Adams, the sixth President of the United States of America, wrote that the essence of Mohammad’s doctrine is violence and lust, exalting the brutal over the spiritual part of human nature, and while his dogmas furnish human motives to action, there can never be peace on earth, nor good will towards men. Winston Churchill, the former Prime Minister of Britain, who successfully guided that country through its darkest hours during the Second World War, wrote that Islam in a man is as dangerous as rabies in a dog.

Muslim theologians distinguish between two forms of jihad, one which refers to the struggle within each person to remain true to God, and another, which is holy war against the infidel, those that are not Muslims. It is this latter form of jihad that should worry all of us who value our freedom, who value the West, and who will not submit, for Islam means submission to Allah. Muslims divides the world into regions that have submitted to their god’s rule, called the Dar al-Islam, and those that have not, called the Dar al-Harb, which means the Region of War. That tells you all you need to know about their attitude towards those who do not follow their beliefs.

There are over a hundred verses in the Qur’an that call on believers to wage jihad against unbelievers. According to the Islamic jurist Taqi ibn Taymiyya, jihad is the best way to serve God; it is not just virtuous but obligatory for all Muslims.

This jihad can take many forms:

First, there is the jihad of the sword. Muhammad and his followers conquered the Arabian Peninsula and then turned to Christian lands, the Byzantine territories of Syria, Palestine, and Egypt, conquering four of Christendom’s most important cities — Constantinople, Alexandria, Antioch, and Jerusalem. The Muslim menace descended on Persia and swept through North Africa which gave them the launching pad from which they invaded Spain, threatening Europe from both the East and the West. They advanced into France until Charles Martel, known as “the Hammer,” stopped them in the year 732 at the city of Tours. At its height, the Islamic Empire stretched from Spain in the West, throughout North Africa, to northern India in the East, where Muslims and Hindus clashed, a vast territory conquered by force.

Other examples of jihad include the Crusades, when Muslims fought to drive Christians from the Holy Land, the Mahdist War between 1881 to 1899, in Sudan, when Muhammad Ahmad, claiming that he is the Mahdi, the great final Islamic leader who, according to their belief, will come at the end time, to free the world of all injustice and evil, incited his followers to rebel and to expel the British and Egyptians so that they can establish an Islamic state. When the Afghan Mujahideen, which means “those engaged in jihad,” fought against the Soviet Union between 1979 until 1989 in Afghanistan, it was also seen as a jihad. To boot, terror groups like Al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Hamas all invoke jihad as the reason for their terror campaigns.

Hassan al Bana said: “It is the nature of Islam to dominate, not to be dominated, to impose its law on all nations and to extend its power to the entire planet.” Let that be a warning to the West. At the moment, the Muslim militaries are still too weak to challenge the West in a direct confrontation, which explains why groups like al-Qaeda, ISIS, and Hamas resort to terror to further their goals. That is why the West must make sure that they remain at the forefront of military technology.

Secondly, there is the jihad of words. Muhammad was a brilliant and gifted orator who often silenced his critics with a war of words. The exchange of insults, the arguments, and the spread of videos on social media is a big part of this jihad too. An important part of this is deception. Deception is always an important part of war and Muslims are allowed to deceive their enemies, which they do. Hamas claim they lulled the Israelis into complacency by pretending that they were focused on governing Gaza, but then they struck like snakes when the Jews least expected it. That is why eternal vigilance is the price of not just freedom, but of survival. Hamas have shown that they cannot be trusted. Can we believe other Muslim groups?

Thirdly, there is the jihad of slavery. Muslims who take part in jihad are allowed to steal the property or others, to extort ransoms and also to capture slaves. For example, in Sudan, the Islamic government encourages Arabs from the north to attack the black Christians in the South to enslave them.

Several of the women who were capture by Hamas on that fateful Saturday, were raped. The most vivid example of this was a woman who was forced into a jeep, bleeding from her buttocks, seemingly with her ankle cut so that she cannot run away. This too has a precedent in the Qur’an, the most holy book of Islam, believed by Muslims to be the perfect word of Allah: It says that in addition to wives (“two or three or four”), Muslim men may enjoy the “captives of the right hand” (4:3, 4:24). These are women who have been seized as “the spoils of war” (33:50) to use for sex.

Fourth there is economic jihad. Those who refuse to submit to Islam are forced by Muslim rulers to pay a special extortianary tax called the Jizya, which is often used to finance further Jihad. In contrast, those who convert to Islam are offered financial rewards or scholarships, the old carrot and stick approach.

Fifth, there is the jihad of sharia law. Non-Muslims have a lower status than believers and do not have equal access to the law because their testimony is not valid against a Muslim, even I the case of murder. According to sharia law, anyone who renounces Islam and converts to another religion, should be killed. Islam is thus clearly an intolerant and oppressive religion.

Sixth, there is the jihad of polygamy. During the battle of Uhud, fought on the 23 of March, 625 A.D., between Muslims and the Quraysh, the then ruling tribe of Mecca, so many of Muhammad’s men were killed, that he allowed those who survived to take up to four wives. Due to birth control and abortion in the West and polygamy in among Muslims, the Mohammedan birth-rate has skyrocketed, increasing in number twice as fast as other religions. This Polygamy has become one of Islam’s most effective weapons, by providing them with a numerical advantage, which is especially worrying for Europe, where the birth-rate among infidels is dwindling.

Lastly, there is the jihad of the spirits. According to the Quran, Muslims are not only men and women, but also spirits who fight for the spread of Islam. They expect Muslims to fight a jihad in this life and to continue to fight after their death. Those who die during a holy war are praised as martyrs.

Mohammad said that Allah guarantees that those who are killed while fighting a jihad, will go to Paradise, a place where there are houris,“voluptuous women of equal age” with a lovely gaze and lovely eyes, chaste maidens whom no man or Jinn before them has touched, virgins, to whom they will be joined. This makes fighting in jihads a win-win proposition: If a Muslim warrior is victorious, he enjoys bountiful booty on earth; if he is killed, he will enjoy better booty in the afterlife, booty more bountiful than he could believe.

For those who prefer boys, Allah promises that “round about them will serve, devoted to them, young male servants handsome as pearls well-guarded, youths of perpetual freshness.” Whereas in Iran they throw homosexuals off the roofs and stone them to death, there seems to be a strange contradiction in Islam about homosexuality. For example the great poet Abu Nuwas glorified homosexuality in his well-known poem “the Perfumed Garden.” In it he wrote:

“O the joy of sodomy! So now be sodomites, you Arabs. Turn not away from it — therein is wondrous pleasure. Take some coy lad with kiss-curls twisting on his temple and ride him as he stands like some gazelle standing to her mate — A lad whom all can see girt with sword and belt not like your whore who has to go veiled. Make for smooth-faced boys and do your very best to mount them, for women are the mounts of the devils!”

I have also heard tales of burly Afghan tribal leaders who were pious Muslims that liked to take their pleasure with young boys that they kept around for their convenience. The Foreign Service worker who told me about that, said: “Try winning those hearts and minds.” Exotic Orientalism indeed.

The promise of Paradise also helps to motivate suicide bombers. Muslims openly proclaim that while the West values life, they value death.

Those who reject Islam are seen as “the vilest of creatures” (Qur’an 98:6) that deserves no mercy. John Wesley, the English cleric who founded the Christian revivalist movement known as the Methodists, wrote in his book The Doctrine of Original Sin: “Ever since the religion of Islam appeared in the world, the espousers of it . . . have been as wolves and tigers to all other nations, rending and tearing all that fell into their merciless paws, and grinding them with their iron teeth; that numberless cities are raised from the foundation, and only their name remaining; that many countries, which were once as the garden of God, are now a desolate wilderness; and that so many once numerous and powerful nations are vanished from the earth! Such was, and is at this day, the rage, the fury, the revenge, of these destroyers of human kind.”

Communists and Islamists both have a global vision, striving to subjugate the whole world under their yoke. Muslims want to restore the caliphate and extend it to the whole world. In his book The Crusades: the World’s Debate, Hilaire Belloc wrote:

“In the major thing of all, Religion, we have fallen back and Islam has in the main preserved its soul. . . . We are divided in the face of a Mohammedan world, divided in every way — divided by separate independent national rivalries, by the warring interests of possessions and dispossessed — and that division cannot be remedied because the cement which once held our civilization together, the Christian cement, has crumbled. Perhaps before [these lines] appear in print the rapidly developing situation in the Near East will have marked some notable change. Perhaps that change will be deferred, but change there will be, continuous and great. Nor does it seem probable that at the end of such a change, especially if the process be prolonged, Islam will be the loser.”

Anyone who values his freedom, anyone who wants a free future for their children, anyone who wants to prosper, and anyone who does not want to submit, should take heed. We will not be able to resist against their jihad if we do not return to the values that have made the Western civilization, a civilization that has given the world the concept of human rights, great technological advances, and has created a freer society which allowed its people to prosper like nowhere else on the planet; nor in history, great. At the heart of Western civilization lies Christianity, a religion that has been at war with Islam for centuries.

We need to re-affirm the values that have made the West greater than the rest, the best, including the Ten Commandments that God gave to Moses on Mount Sinai, Christianity, and the Bible, as well as the political philosophy of the Englishman John Locke, the idea that no-one has a divine right to rule over us, the idea that we possess rights that cannot be taken away by any government, the idea that the relation between the people and the government is a contract, and if those in government abuse their authority, then we, the people, have a right, nay, an obligation to overturn it, as well as Thomas Jefferson’s radical ideas of freedom, freedom of conscience, freedom of expression, and freedom of speech, which is the basis of all freedoms.

Like the valiant Knights of St. John who drew a line in the sand on Malta, and told and fought and showed the Muslim menace that they will not advance one step further, we have to stop the Islamic threat. We have to be vigilant, to make sure that the West remains technologically the best, and ask God to lead us with His wisdom, so that afterwards, He can receive us into glory, for secular humanism is, in my view, too tepid, too half-hearted, too weak, to defeat the onslaughts from godless Communists and Islamic jihadists: we can only defeat them with God by our side.

But, if God be for us, who can be against us?
