Jewel (Time and Tide)

On the east coast of England,
upon a wild, wild shore,
in my imagination,
is a place that I adore.

It takes me back in memory,
to semi precious stones,
the sea cast on the shoreline,
and we would take them home.

You spoke to me of treasures,
when I walked with you,
and marveled at this planet,
which oceans drape in blue.

When I am by the boathouse,
I hear your voice that sings,
and when I turn back time and tide,
my memories have wings.

I run along the sand-dunes,
run towards the tide,
and the lonely sea has answer,
in the hush of the startled wind.
