Jet set GO!!
In 2008 HBR coined the term 'Founder's dilemma' for corporate America's case studies where founders don't let go easily even when their continuance in the organization they built is unsustainable & writing for them is clear on the wall resulting in four out of five entrepreneurs forced to step down from the CEO’s post. Most are shocked when investors insist that they relinquish control, and they’re pushed out of office in ways they don’t like and well before they want to abdicate.
Jet's current situation is personification of what's ailing once India's finest full service airline with an envious loyalty program. Flying 'Jet' during last decade automatically qualified a traveler in the club of having arrived! That was then. With half of its fleet grounded, flights getting cancelled more than taking off, majority shareholders slogging out in open over capping of others's share (with Etihad insisting on NG's exit as a precondition to infuse more funds) & lenders wanting their pound of flesh, money is simply not trickling in resulting in fliers suffering & shifting to other options & brand Jet getting battered like Rocky Balboa. In a service industry, such a situation is mostly irreversible & an imminent NCLT route will finish it for good.
Only if 'Founder's curse' had not prevailed, this fine airline's fate could have been very different #randomusing
