?John 17:9 I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine….20. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. ?(If you are a believer, that means you and me!)
?Introduction
One of the greatest consolations for the believer is realizing that Jesus Christ, the Son of God and God the Son, who sits on the right hand of God the Father, is personally praying for him. Not only is Jesus praying for the believer, but also for the unbeliever to receive Christ and receive eternal life. He even prayed for those who were crucifying him while they were callously gambling for his clothes at the foot of the cross. The Spirit of Christ, the Holy Spirit, who was sent by both the Father and the Son was sent into the world to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment. He convicts the world of our sinful condition, the righteousness of Christ (all our righteousness from ourselves is as filthy rags – Isaiah 64:6) and the judgment of sin on the cross.
We should remind ourselves of the following truths:
1.??????? Only Jesus Christ can pay our sin debt: Mt. 7:21-23; 25:41
2.??????? Jesus Christ tasted death for every man: Romans 3:23; Hebrews 2:9, John 3:16
3.??????? The Holy Spirit lives in everyone who personally knows Jesus Christ: Romans 8:9
4.??????? Jesus Christ is the only mediator between sinful man and a Holy God: I Tim. 2:4-5?
Jesus Christ is praying for us:
Jesus Christ is given every believer by God the Father. He is praying for us to keep us from evil and to be a faithful witness. John 17:15 I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shoudest keep them from the evil….20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. God has left us in this world so that we can be a faithful witness to him both in what we say and what we do. Our obedient lives should back up our words and witness for Him. We should witness about the gospel being able to change lives, that Jesus Christ really did come on earth, live a perfect holy life, die on the cross, and rise from the dead. We can rest assured that he is praying for us, and he promises never to leave us or forsake us. Jesus Christ is the creator God (John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17; Hebrews 1:1-3) and spent six days in creation. He spent about 33 years redeeming us from sin and purchasing our salvation. But he has been interceding for us, sitting at the right hand of God the Father, for over 2000 years in his role as our High Priest. What a comfort for us as believers.

1 个月I was feeling down suddenly. I cried to God again, “why do you leave me here in this world?!” Crying would not help. So I sought to read your post. God used it to answer me. Thank you for encouraging me in the Truth that God is using my testimony in ways that are a mystery to me. It is enough to know He is with me and praying for me.
