Jesus Christ The Passover
Yvonne C. Freeman
I'm a Bible Christian. An author, poet and song writer posting poetry from my books inspired by the written word of God
"These are the feasts of the Lord, even holy convocations, which ye shall proclaim in their seasons." - Leviticus 23:4
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus." - Galatians 3:28
All of God's Feast Days have a meaning. They are memorials to bring us to remembrance of God's plan for us and what's to come. For it is written "Passover" is the feast of the Lord not the feast of the Jews. It represents all Christians who believe and have faith in Jesus Christ. Let's call it what God named it. Christ is the Passover. What is the origin of the name Easter? What does a bunny rabbit or easter eggs have to do with Jesus? Easter goes back to the name of a pre-Christian goddess in England called Eostre. Google it! You know not what you worship. "For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:" 1 Corinthians 5:7
Do you know the true meaning of Passover? It's about faith and belief. The origin of Passover goes back to Egypt when Pharaoh would not let God's people go. The Lord smote the land with many plagues to no avail. He warned them the angel of death would pass through the land of Egypt killing those who did not believe. The blood of Jesus, the sacrificial lamb who shed his blood for our sins, saved the life of those who believed.
"And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt." - Exodus 12:13
An exercise in faith for those who believed in what thus said the Lord. They placed blood over their door so the angel of death would "passed over" their homes, shield by the blood of Jesus Christ our Lord. Faith and obedience unto the Lord saved their household. Believe and you shall be saved.
"For the Lord will pass through to smite the Egyptians; and when he seeth the blood upon the lintel, and on the two side posts, the Lord will pass over the door, and will not suffer the destroyer to come in unto your houses to smite you." - Exodus 12:23
The day the world stood still - sheltered in place due to the coronavirus. A pestilence unlike any other. Shield yourself with the word of God. Obey his commandments and live.
